Picnic Postponed

The pinic was postponed due to that asshole Charlie. As posted by Cathrine:

Due to reports of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Charley’s arrival in our area in the evening to overnight hours today and remaining into tomorrow, the annual SCOSUG picnic has been postponed.

The new date is: Sunday, August 22, 2004
Time and place remain the same: 1pm at Sleeping Giant State Park http://dep.state.ct.us/stateparks/parks/sleepinggiant.htm

If you would kindly post ONLY your RSVP and what you’re bringing here, I’d appreciate it!

Let’s hope Mother Nature decides to cooperate with us for next week!

See you then!

Cathy

Update for the sake of updating.

Mm, not much going down. I fixed rambo, so it’s running trustix again. Blablabla.

This sunday is the SCOSUG (new site!) picnic, which I’ll be going to. Oh, I think I forgot to report back on the Debian meeting. Damn, I’ve probably forgotten a lot of it, too. Ah well, here we go.

Steve and John came to pick me up (In Steve’s awesome new SUV) and we went to Innovation. The topic for the night’s presentation was the new Debian installer. The dude giving the presentation was also the perl package maintainer for Debian. (He also maintained a lot of other stuff, which I have forgotten.) He was a pretty cool guy.

He does a debian install for us on the projector screen while he gives the talk. He did the install from inside debian, using VMWare. never knew much about VMWare, so this itself was cool. (Although VMWare told the installer he had some ridiculously large harddrive, which was amusing.)

Nothing to new for me, as I’ve used the installer a thousand times. But I learned that the Debian releases are named after things from Toy Story (A tradition started by Bruce Perkins, if I recall correctly…).

Then we went to dinner at the diner. Mmyep, awesome night.

So yea. I’ve been working on CoE as of late. Added some stuff like events and attacking. Also added the basis for the class system. And Tigress drew some dragons for me.

So before I go, I’ll mention this FPS called Cube. Try it or die.
