Told you so!
I told you I would forget to make another post about the politics thing. It just so happens I also forgot to make any posts for about half a month. So I’ll give everyone out there a little summary of what’s happened where.
School started September 1. Although, we had to attend orientation the night before so they could give us a packet of useless papers and our schedule. I remember the night in some detail…
We start out by going into the auditorium, which is massive. And it’s also a REAL auditorium, nothing like the gym/lunchroom we had back at St. Aedan’s. Then some useless idiots get on stage and tell us about “Career’s mission” and the goals, and the motto, and all of that useless so-called ‘inspirational’ bullshit. Then the administrator in charge of freshmen gets on stage and starts screaming at us about the CAPT test. ‘BLABLABLA YOU NEED TO PASS THIS TEST OR ELSE I’LL CHAIN YOU UP IN MY OFFICE AND OPEN YOUR HEAD UP AND CRAP ON YOUR BRAINS BLABLABLABLABLA’, and so on. After awhile people get up and try to leave the room. Mr. OMG-PASS-THE-CAPT-OR-ELSE! tells them to sit down, because they can’t get out. And he’s right. They’ve placed security guards in the doors that refuse to allow anyone out, and also parked this tractor-thing in the hall so even if you /did/ manage to get past one of the guards you would be trapped.
So when they finish talking, they let us out to go get our schedules. Now, there are eight lines. Two for 9th graders, two for 10th graders, etc. One of the two lines is for people with last names A-M and the other N-Z. But they don’t tell us this, of course.
After standing in the senior’s line and then the N-Z line for freshmen, I finally got my schedule. w00h00!
So then we have the first day of school, yadda yadda yadda. Nothing eventful, really.
We have some weird ass classes, though. Our keyboarding class currently lacks a teacher, so we’ve had a variety of interns, an insane substitute, and even Principle Coggins. This week we’ve had the nutter sub who sleeps at the bus station and only has a highschool education. The only thing we have to do in the entire 82 minute period is type something. Anything. And print it out.
We also have some tired-sounding guy for (Honors) Phychem, no (honors) english teacher, a rather boring spanish teacher, a nice PE teacher, and a Ms. Mazako-like Algebra instructor.
For (Honors) World Civilizations we have a Mr. C wanabe. We played a barter game today. We each had so much of something to trade, and we had a list of things we needed to aquire in order to get an A for the day. I don’t think he actually gave us a grade for getting everything or not, but it was a real motivation. One of the most annoying things about it was that there were only 4 trained hunting dogs and 4 kegs of wine, when *everyone* needed a dog and/or wine. And nobody would give you a decent price on anything.
And latin class has so far been easy. Our first two tests were just on parts of the english language. Things like ‘Name and define the 9 parts of speech in the English language’. The day after we took notes on the nine parts. But amazingly enough, people managed to fail it.
We had our english teacher /once/, then she ‘got cancer’ and hasn’t been seen since. We’ve been stuck with an intern. Bah.
Mhm.
